Both PN and OP have taken actions that are incorrect. PN in this case are no different from many organisations in that someone has boobed.
Yes, PN has problems at the moment, about which one may speculate and pontificate til the cows come home.
However, the urge of some on the forum to use and branch, twig or even leaf to beat PN or any business, seems childish, may be unbalanced.

Quote from: bounty this feed back forum should not be made public, being it's public no one should be allowed to reply to the original poster, genuine mistakes can be made.
Forum comes from Latin for market and a place for discussion. I'm confused how a forum can exist with out public discussion,

Quote from: alext05 I would be inclined to suggest to OP to login into their Plusnet account and check their details there, just in case, because this happened to me some time ago:

It's not my account that's wrong.

feed back should be sent to plusnet, not on a public forum like this with people making comment's to the original poster.
if plusnet had better customer service I would have phoned them but I wasn't prepared to wait for a long time on the phone.
moderator please close this thread

Quote from: bounty how can this happen?
Assuming I'm looking at the relevant accounts, the newly registered one has been signed up using an identical house number and post code to you.
Quote from: spoon The OP gave some totally valid feedback about a total cockup made by Plusnet.
I could be wrong, but from where I'm sat, the cock-up does not look to be entirely ours.

Hi Bob,
Sometimes the oddest of out comes arise from the oddest of triggers. One is surprised that in the circumstances you describe the OP's phone line and services were not hi-jacked. I wonder if the address is a building of multiple occupancy (flats) having a common street number and post code?

It has my door number and road as well as the post code. there is only 4 bungalows in this road and no one has that name.
why would someone sign up using someones address?
plusnet phoned me last week about madasafish to plusnet and said they sent me a letter, she was going to sign me the day she phoned. but I didnt want to sign up then as I didn't want to have a 12 month contract, I told her I would find another isp with cheeper broadband with a 12 months contract, she beter not have signed me up without my permishion. the only letter I had from plusnet was this one.

This all sounds a bit too similar to what happened to my account a few years ago http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,58316.0.html . In that case my address was changed to that of the new signup, whereas in this case it looks like the reverse is true.

Quote from: lucerne Certainly I would not claim that, but I make a good effort, where the name is obscured to make sure of the recipient. (I daren't open SWMBO's). One of the few exceptions I made to opening mail, was some addressed to the previous owner in respect of $ shares. We had been forwarding it on for years, and I finally lost patience with her failure to do anything. By "illegally" opening it I found a UK office, advised them of her details. Right or wrong, the annoyance ceased.
It's only illegal if it's deliberate, and intended to be to the detriment of the correct addressee.

why would someone sign up using someones address?
I doubt it was intentional. Signup uses address checking so they may have entered the post code incorrectly and blindly chosen the house number without realising the street name was wrong?

So do you have a paid-for Madasafish account? The Madasafish account I've been looking at is a non-subscription account, and has been for a while.
Might be an idea to message me directly as suggested so you can share some of the specifics with me?
