With specific reference to negotiated 24 month contracts
Are we to assume that the contracted prices can be unilaterally changed by Plusnet

Is that a pig flying past my window
Quote from: ricke17 The only thing we can do is wait for our notification emails as they'll be tailored for our specific 'special offer' etc, I assume.

We can put prices up during a contract term but as per points 50 to 53 of our Terms and Conditions we have to give you at least 30 days notice and if the change is detrimental then no early termination charges will apply .
I've copied the relevant parts in below.
Quote Changing these Terms (notification)
- Sometimes, we will need to change the charges and the Terms and Conditions of the service. We will publish details of all changes online at www.plus.net.
- We will also let you know about a price increase or a change to the Terms and Conditions that we believe is likely to cause you material disadvantage at least one month before it happens. We will let you know about other price changes and changes to the Terms and Conditions via email to the contact email address on the account and by adding a service note to your account. Account Service Notes can be viewed at http://contactus.plus.net/
- For changes we need to make to meet legal and regulatory requirements, we may not be able to meet the timescale detailed in paragraph 51. We will let you know about these changes as soon as we can.
- If we have made a change which is to your material disadvantage then if you decide to end our agreement with us early then, you will not have to pay a charge for doing so unless there are any charges or payments we have deferred or the Price guide says otherwise. However, once we have told you about such a change, you must let us know within 30 days of us notifying you of the change if you want to end the agreement by giving us notice in accordance with paragraph 46. Only the services that are directly affected by the changes we make can be ended without paying an early termination charge for that service and this agreement will continue to apply to any other services that are not affected by those changes.

They've obviously recruited one of those recently in senior management.
Increase customer costs, cut CS hours, make staff redundant, leave after a year and then boast on their CV that they worked for an award winning broadband company, 'restructured' it, made it more efficient and saved x million per year.
At least there are no management skills involved.::)

That looks very

For this reason and being very cynical about any further price hikes I will not be renewing my LRS for the meagre saving of £18 per year
What all this really means is that we are encouraged to join the rate tarts and move suppliers every 12/18 months and grab the introductory offers which really doesn't seem to be a sensible policy by Plusnet

Making LRS much less attractive means that customers are less likely to take it up and therefore have more freedom to shop around when their broadband contract expires...

Those who restructured the DCT did not even last a year.
The current CEO has been here more than a year - I wonder it the above might lead one to wonder if he's about ready for a move?

Absolutely, strange decision. I won't be renewing LRS at these rates.

My LRS comes up in November but I'll happily sacrifice that if necessary.
These impending price changes and recent increases in fibre installation no-shows, and very poor responses on telephone support shows that PN has lost it's edge over other ISP's!
