Re: Product Refresh Discussion

I am currently on Premium and have a fixed BT DLM profile as a result of the recent trial.  I'd like to switch to Extra but I want to be certain that the process of changing over won't reset or re-enable DLM.  Can anyone confirm that a product change won't affect the DLM settings?
Thanks

Didn't Premium have 80GB allowance, if so why release something with less usage?

yes thats a strange one, i just had a look at the http://usergroup.plus.net/prodcomp2.php tool which shows what u can expect at certain times of days and premium and extra are exact same, with Prioritised traffic and speeds at certain times of day for downloading,
the only diffrence i can see between the 2 is you LOSE 20GB in usage Undecided not really sure why anyone on premium would want to change to be honest, i know they will have to in 12 months prob just my opinion looking at things

Re: Product Refresh Discussion

Have just changed to Extra and noticed this message in a closed ticket:
Quote
Provisioning of your ADSL Account Information
New Action 21CN Modify Submitted added
(via ADSL2+ Order System Interface)

I am currently on Premium ADSL2+. What is the modification that is being referred to here? Is it anything to worry about?

The usage allowance is reduced as stated, but so are prices, by £2 in Market 1 & 2 areas and £4.50 in Market 3 areas. Those whose usage is well below 60GB per month might well prefer the lower prices.
As is customary with legacy products there will be no compulsion to change products in the future.

No changes will be made if you're on ADSL2+ already.

You won't be required to change in 12 months.
Many customers don't use 80GB on Premium, so would be best changing for the cost saving.

Re: Product Refresh Discussion

@twentythree, nothing to worry about, it's a bug within the account change process, we won't actually send the modify order.

Re: Product Refresh Discussion

Thanks Mand - I'm having enough problems with my connection as it is with the outstanding fault. Glad this won't add to the complications.

Re: Product Refresh Discussion

Mand just looked at Evils FAQ out of date link, that seems to imply that Value can go to ADSL2, take that is another error?
Line activation seems to have been well reduced, thought you would have made more of that big saving, instead of hiding it away

Re: Product Refresh Discussion

@pierre_pierre, you mean question 11? If so that's being updated shortly.
Line activation has been offered at a reduced price for a while now, we're certainly not hiding it. Smiley

Re: Product Refresh Discussion

I've read there's a £25 broadband activation charge on the new products which will be waived if a 12 month contract is chosen and a Home Phone package is also added at the time of the BB order.
Is there no other way to avoid having to pay the activation charge, I would have thought it would be waived for taking out a 12 month contract alone.
What exactly is the activation charge meant to cover and does it apply to people who migrate into PN?

Re: Product Refresh Discussion

The setup charge of £25 replaces the previous one (of £40) and applies to all new accounts, regardless of activation or migration.
It can be deferred if you take Home Phone also (which is presumably where you got the 12 months from?).
We've made the setup fees as small as we possibly can, but we do have to be able to cover outlay.
