The lack of any service status updates from PN during and after this weekends, clearly widespread, issues is concerning.
PN do not seem to grasp that failure to report issues via the PN Service Status results in the customer base not being able to trust the PN Service Status and by implication PN itself.

Failure must surely also result in a greater volume of calls to the Plusnet Tech. Support phone line and these will be calls about which nothing can be done for the individual caller. So it's a waste of Plusnet's own resources.

I was one of those affected at the weekend before service (sort of) returned to normal on Saturday evening.
Plusnet just need to get it in their heads that failure to communicate with customers leads to distrust and eventually churn, because in the modern era of social media if a supplier won't talk to a customer, the customers can still talk to each other, and boy was Plusnet's name mud on the T'internet!
Service fault's happen and Plusnet have form from earlier this year on just trying to ignore the issue. All they need to say on the CS phone message, service update page and via social media is that there is a speed issue for some customers and they are investigating and will update us ASAP.
How long would it have taken to utter those simple words and more importantly, how much anger, potential lost business and work for CS could it have saved?
Sure I wouldn't be happy about a slow service, but that wasn't what drove me nuts at the weekend, it was the utter lack of customer care and communication.
Next time, try and actually "do us proud" by just telling us you have an issue and are going to fix it.

@Chris say if you still having issues report a fault
at the moment since the weekend my speed went to 10 , but since Monday it has been stuck at 59/7 , even though my normal speed is 73/17 and BT says its not a fault until it drops under 40
@stereohaven yes i tried Twits and Bookface i dint get a reply till Monday so that was a waste of time

Sadly our comments are falling on deaf ears. I did expect better from Plusnet.

Unfortunately I didn't
Bitter experience I am afraid
look at the Service Status Feed
The only customer related problem was on the 20th July
The Service Status http://www.plus.net/supportpages.html?a=2 shows everything green except for email and that was last updated on 05/05/2017

Why do we have to continue to pay for a service which isn't working properly?

Compensation should be paid for every day that the fault exists. This may eventually compel BTOR to upgrade their creaking system.
On a happier a note my speeds have returned to normal this afternoon. For how long I wonder?
