Quote from: Oldjim From very limited experience - my connection - my default noise margin jumped up 6dB on changing from 20CN to 21CN for no apparent reason.
Yours appears to have increased either to 9dB or 12dB given the reported noise margin of 10.9dB
I would suggest asking for a reset or retrain - not sure which is available now
What's this do with the OP thread?

Thank you for supplying another router.
As requested I have moved the router to the test socket.
Router in study
System Up Time 358:53:36
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2656 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 55.0 db 28.0 db
Noise Margin 10.2 db 21.0 db
Router connected at test socket
System Up Time 00:06:46
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2560 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 54.0 db 28.0 db
Noise Margin 12.0 db 21.0 db
I have had to use a RJ11 to RJ11 cable from Filter to Modem, where as before I was using a RJ11 to BT Plug cable. (No phone connected in study)
I have updated question 49441430. Any thoughts?
Dan

What I want to do is get the router I sent you into the test socket with an inline filter and reset your SNR. this should give us the best performace and we can see how stable it remains.

I'll let you know when I have fitted the new router. How shall I update you, here, PM or via the open question?

Updating both the ticket and this thread would be best I think, I wouldn't send a PM. Jojo (or one of us) will pick it up from here when you let us know

The new router is now in place.
DSL Type: G.992.1 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 2,464
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 11.5 / 17.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 28.0 / 52.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 21.0 / 12.0
Unfortunatly looks much the same as the netgear router.
Dan.

I have noticed since using this device I get more disconnects. Is this it then, do I have to accept a slow connection? Can we not use ADSL2+ and go back to ADSL1?
Edit:-
Been doing some research it would appear I am already ADSL1; router reports DSL Type: G.992.1 annex A. Is this the best I can expect from now on, as I've said before I have had much faster connections than this.
The router is very slow to respond whe I click on options, is this normal?
Dan.

I can place an order to put you onto ADSL1 on 21CN. Once on there we should be able to tweak things a bit easier for you. It doesn't look like the SNR reset worked the other day. Are you happy for me to go ahead?

I couldn't tell you what difference it will make, but if it was me, I'd do it.
