It is very confusing remembering which phone packages charge and which don't. And since other providers do not charge at all for these numbers I think it is long overdue that PN made them free at all times.
I also believe the charge for 0845 numbers is 7.5p/min which is a criminal.

However, I echo your sentiments to my mobile provider, I've run up massive bills calling the bank / my solictior / the estate agent, buying my first house.
Edit: typo

BB PHone might be tied to Gradwell rates but PN could make 0845/0870 free at all times on all Home Phone products .

Quote from: bj I know. But BT and TalkTalk don't charge with their evening/weekend packages. So why do PN? (no need to anser that)
BT do charge for 0870 / 0845 calls if made outside your package times.

So PN are just following the others. How about setting a lead and making them free at all time for all products.

Quote from: magnetism2772 BT also starting offering free rental on 0844 numbers...thus ensuring that most businesses would move to 0844, and they'd still get to charge people for the calls!
Don't get mad get even, get your own free 0844 number like I have and companies using 084 numbers give them your 084 number as contact.
Mine diverts to my 01 number first then to my VOIP and it's all free.
But those using 01, 02, 03 or 05 give those your 01 number. simples
I had to laugh one day one firm said Can I phone you back I said yes here is my number 0844 ******* but it will cost you 10p a min and they did phone back and I made the call last as long as possible.
But as others said and it is worth repeating use : saynoto0870.com
You won't find an alternative number for me there.
