Am I the only person who finds the implied racist comments on this thread a little disturbing ?

I don't believe racism was intended by the OP, more an expression of the need to clearly understand technical instructions delivered over the phone.
I've had difficulty understanding some Scottish call centre staff (as no doubt they with my Yorkshire accent) but I'm not racist.

The OP was simply expressing a view that a lot of people hold about foreign call centres. Many companies are now relocating their centres back to the UK. One reason I read for this was that customers found it easier to understand the operatives. Other reasons also applied such as cost which has moved in favour of a return to the UK.

I do believe that replying to this and including the quote clears up confusion and prevents others from mistaking that the comments are for them rather than the intended person for which they were for. If you arn't allowed to use quotes why have the ability to use them?
I'm all for moderation, but not when moderators feel the need to be trigger-happy. It makes one feel worthless and feel disheartened. And before you go about deleting this, this is genuine feedback and posted in the correct forum!
What is wrong with beginning your post with the following common convention?
@username
It makes it clear who the response is directed to and doesn't take up screen real estate by repeating what is just a few lines above.

The comments were not implied, you inferred, and incorrectly. It is a well know fact that foreign call centres are manned/womaned/personned by people who do not possibly have the same natural grasp of our language as we do and therfore communication is more difficult than it otherwise needs to be.
The comments were not racist in my opinion. You are, with this, diluting the cause against real racism.
