I've no reason to doubt that it's genuine, but I'm not aware of having any recent interaction with Plusnet.

I help support a number of my referrals and thus my mobile number is on their accounts. I've had unexpected SMS messages when the account holder has made direct contact with PN.
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

@Townman Good point. As far as I'm aware, only two other accounts have had my mobile attached. One is my daughter, who has had no reason to contact PN for a good few years, and the other is a friend who closed her account in 2015.
