Don't worry no-one's done away with me I've been in the dentists chair all morning with this song going round and round in my head
>
Good to hear that the V8 reached you, and just to make sure it is a V8 and not a fibre router, not sure where my colleague got that idea from. Wishful thinking aside we should be singing you one of those at some point in the future.
Interesting that you say it took a few attempts to get into the router as it took me 3 or 4 attempts to log in in the first place.
Yeah, the stats aren't sparking but I very much like the fact that you've been online for over 2 days now (Adam touches wood to avoid more curses) We're having a few internal system issues at the moment so I can't give you any rainbow coloured connection logs so I'll post those up later.
With regards to speeds all being well we should see those uplift in another 24 hours (Adam clutches the edge of his desk again)
I'll check your logs again later in the afternoon and report back as to how things are going.

Anyway, I meant no bags not no BT - was still suffering shock from Matts comments in regards to CSA's not using a log off code before end of shift
Yes, stats are a little pap, but we'll wait for an uplift, or you could just get a debanded profile on the go again
Had a support ticket reply in regards to the fibre, something to do with the new routers not having N so we're going to have to wait a while for the new ones Guessing there is little communication between teams, and sections then?
Nice link, but for the dentist, this normally springs into my head
&videos=2jlSp97pzyA&feature=artistob>
&videos=2jlSp97pzyA&feature=artistob must be the numb bit As for the past few days I've had the Black Eyed Peas stuck in my head, Meet me half way........ not sure why, can't even remember hearing it for ages?
Going to re-solder the reset back in, in the old V8 now I can see which shiney prong is broken, might be able to get it working! Will let you know how that goes, a usr & psw for that one would have still been nice? How's the guys knuckles? Does he know we're talking about him on the PNCF?
Anyhoo....... we'll play the waiting game again shall we? Giz a call when you can, ta!

Feel so numb, I wish! I seem to have a high tolerance for local anaesthetic my dentist used 5 cartridges of the stuff on me and I could still feel everything.

No, we're all aware of this, you can have a non-wireless N fibre router if you want but you might want to hang fire for one of the new ones. (and no I'm not sure what these will be just yet ;))
Thanks a lot if you do get to fix the original V8, no joy with the login for that one I'm afraid so feel free to have a play with it. BTW I'm off up to see the accounts team shortly to get myself another handful of returns bags, going to see if I can get these out by recorded post this time.

The person at this end that had this last wasn't the last person to use it, we don't know who that was so a hard reset is the only way to go with that I'm afraid.
the next task for me after that is to get you off the banded profile, this can take a couple or 3 days to do so bear with me and I'll keep fighting the good fight for you.

Quote Hey Tim,
Feel so numb, I wish! I seem to have a high tolerance for local anaesthetic my dentist used 5 cartridges of the stuff on me and I could still feel everything.
So, hello Adam
I'm the same, in fact the only thing that ends up hurting is where the flipping needle goes in!
Quote No, we're all aware of this, you can have a non-wireless N fibre router if you want but you might want to hang fire for one of the new ones. (and no I'm not sure what these will be just yet
Right, we'll we have no N devices, and the other thing, would I not want to hang fire till we actually get fibre By all means send me a router, we do a wonderful job and keeping them all!
Quote Thanks a lot if you do get to fix the original V8, no joy with the login for that one I'm afraid so feel free to have a play with it. BTW I'm off up to see the accounts team shortly to get myself another handful of returns bags, going to see if I can get these out by recorded post this time.
OOo and I so wanted to see some blood splattered knuckles All I need to do is turn it on and hit the reset switch and see if it will actually reset, although I still don't know why hard wires wouldn't work with it? We'll wait and see!

See support tickets for the reply to above quote.
PS Doro sends her love
Have I already said this is really poor service from Plusnet and BT, and really isn't good enough, something or someone really should do something about it already! I might end up typing more posts and using even more smilies!

Cheers for the picutre, I'm more of an Angela Gossow man myself though
I like what you said about Testament, Alex Skolnick rates very highly indeed on my list of guitar heroes (hmm might have to start a thread in chit chat about that)
back to more serious matters briefly, I'm delighted to say that the banded profile has been removed now so please reboot and see what your speeds are like. If the sync speeds don't improve greatly beyond 1mb its most likely due to the intermittent phone fault so I'll go and get that engineer booked NOW.

Anyway, wife rebooted about two hours ago, browsing is back, sync is up, but I just hope the outtage didn't cause too much profile damage, although it shouldn't have done - we'll see how it plays, so far sync is good, but throughput might as well be ISDN, dunno whether or not that is just the aftermath of todays events.
Giz a call dude!

Sorry for the lack of call yesterday after you called in and spoke to one of the guys in the CSC, if you have a look at http://status.plus.net/ (I know you know about the outage) you'll probably understand why, apologies all the same. I'm prioritising your case this morning so I'll get an appointment sorted for the phone issue.
With regards to speeds can I get you to run a couple of tests on http://speedtester.bt.com/ please? as mentioned though the phone fault could be impacting on this so we shall focus on that first.
Quote PS is it me or has the forum gone a little funny if not a little blurry? Huh?
Looks fine to me, made me give my glasses a wipe just to make sure though lol.
Just thought you might appreciate this, its by some mates of mine from arround the Notts area who signed to candlelight records a couple of years back (lucky so and sos!)

Ok, so maybe one has a little fault with ones headset? Could be O2, that's BT too isn't it?
Anyway, to finish our telephone convo.
old V8 fixed, does need a new reset switch to be soldered in to it, unless you send me a duff V7 and I can pinch one from there, job done!
No bags, but I recall you saying more are on the way? again
Problems with Speed Tester at the moment - typical BT, will get shots up as soon as I can.
Stuff it, I'll copy and paste, it is easier, will snap shot them also though:

Right, let me just screen shot that!
ok, will do a speed test on the thingy site. Hang on.........might have just done better than ISDN nope with dual ISDN I used to get about .96!
so all being well that should do it.
wasn't me by the way...........just in case

I did try ringing back but the call was silent at my end, not using a headset so not sure how it could be that I will try calling again before the day is out, I had to rush up to a meeting.
There are some known issues with the BT speedtester to do with dispcepancies between sync and throughput speeds at the moment but this is the first I've heard of the issue you've mentioned there so I will be looking deeper into that.
Cheers for the speed test results, I'm going to cancel the phone fault and raise a new broadband fault with a view to getting that sorted.

Quote There are some known issues with the BT
really?
You need to pay more attention to these funny yellow things
Well I could hear you, and was shouting at you, I think my last comment was "I think your headset might be _______" (the underline isn't actually that bad, but just in case)
Poor performance eh?
Going to go and get wet, see if I can shake of this germ warfare that's being conducted by BT and it's staff
all the best, have a great weekend dude, let me know when an app. comes through, Mon, Tues, Wed, AM are all good, not the 7th Oct though when ever that is. I take it we're still in September?
Cheers!

You mean smileys or the post-its I've got stuck to my monitor reminding me to look at your fault
Quote Going to go and get wet, see if I can shake of this germ warfare that's being conducted by BT and it's staff
Yep, I got a good soaking riding into work this morning, no let up with the rain just yet. I think the germs have got their hold on me again but I'm drinking OJ by the gallon so I'll trudge through and get this fault progressed as far as I can today, should be a good deal of to-ing and fro-ing between us and BT but I'll take things as far as I can. So either way I should either be able to get some further mantenance done or if not book an SFI appointment.
Hope you have a good weekend too, I can see mine being divided up between spending time with my other half, coughing and sneezing a lot, working on some new Opinicus tracks and writing a best man's speach.

Quote Hi Tim,
ello Adam, hope you've had a good weekend
Quote You mean smiley’s or the post-its I've got stuck to my monitor reminding me to look at your fault
Hmmm, in that case, both
Quote Yep, I got a good soaking riding into work this morning, no let up with the rain just yet.
I was actually about to get into the bath, no rain
Quote I think the germs have got their hold on me again but I'm drinking OJ by the gallon so I'll trudge through and get this fault progressed as far as I can today, should be a good deal of to-ing and fro-ing between us and BT but I'll take things as far as I can. BT germ warfare at it again then? Perhaps you are just overworked and underpaid, and before I forget, the last CSA I spoke to who I spoke to you about, if there is ever an opening for the DCT, they would make an ideal candidate, lacking maybe in technical knowhow, but does possess the manor over the phone the dedication and loyalty to Plusnet, and the enthusiasm.....something to consider, if you can't remember who it was, ask lol
Anyway, maybe this might raise the odd eye brow
Quote Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 131,073 / 0 some of which will be the BT issue
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 131,074 / 0 but not this much
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 42,888
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 66 / 129
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 66 / 4,294,965,335
Sync. is still not too bad!
Quote Hope you have a good weekend too, I can see mine being divided up between spending time with my other half, coughing and sneezing a lot, working on some new Opinicus tracks and writing a best man's speech.
Ta, think mine will be pretty much be the same with the exception of having a little one to look after, not writing new tracks for Opinicus, although I'd be glad to if you're stuck for material and not done a best mans speech but have done to grooms speech, just don't do it on the back of shopping list, makes things go a little wrong when you stand up in front of everyone and stare down looking at van hire, audio lists, and shopping
By the way the net is sluggish tonight, and so far all I've been to is Plusnet GW overloads I guess? Although that might be just BT, I heard they were shutting down a few here and there?
PS. As I said in the H&SQ you didn't ring Can't believe BT are refusing to accept it as a fault, they really have no customer care at all, proof the new PN CEO did a very poor job indeed
