Re: The Plusnet curse?...7months on!!!!!

I'd like to apologize in advance for anything I may say or do that could be construed as offensive as I slowly go NUTS!  Angry
Adam.........Shol'va  Angry
Great call dude, best one ever, especially as we didn't actually have to use the phone, wow, I really believe this could take off, thousands would be lost in revenue as phones, both landline and mobile would just not be needed anymore! Great concept.  Smiley Wonder if we could market this somehow?

I'm sure you have your reasons,  Roll_eyes  Wink

Re: The Plusnet curse?...7months on!!!!!

Embarrassed Embarrassed Sorry Tim, I did have my reasons for not being in touch,
I've been listening to this
this morning and its put me firmly back in a BRING IT ON mood (I mean that in a positive way not a threatening one!)
The throughput speeds you posted are less than impressive for the sync speed your achieving so I'm going to continue down the HLE (high level escalations) route. Its just a shame that the SFI who visited you on Monday didn't perform a speed test as it would be interesting to see what throughput speeds they were able to achieve.
Given the poor throughput speeds compared to the sync speed I'm less convinced that the router is the cause of the issue but I will try and source a wireless voyager router for you. If I don't come up trumps with one I'll speak to my line manager to see if we can source one another way, bear with us we'll find a way around this.
In the meantime its back on the phone to my friends at wholesale escalations Smiley
I'll leave you with some Swiss folk metal that I think might be up your street:

Adam.

I think a bit of both, the stats on the router say otherwise, there is something not quite right with it, if you can't source a 2500v try a Billion or something, the AR7 chipsets go round the UK solving issues just like these.

Re: The Plusnet curse?...7months on!!!!!

Hey TIm,
Nothing much to report at the moment to be honest I'll do my best to give you all the same. I need to speak with my line manager today about sourcing something with an AR7 chipset for you. I'm forumlating a fall-back plan if that doesn't work out. I'm afraid other parts of the forum and a few other users we're due their turn yesterday so I had to prioritise my time put aside for you into either calling you or dealing with HLE, I chose the latter as I believed it would help progress things better.

SFI's (specialist faults investigator's) are the only BT representatives able to interact directly with customer when it comes to broadband faults, what do you think the chap was who visited you? (not a sarcastic question, I'm actually concerned).
I'll be in touch this morning, that way nothing else can get in my way. I need to go and deal with new posts in the forums first so I will speak to you in a bit.

Not an SFI, just an ADSL engineer, nothing more, every other SFI, and we've had a few as you know, have had the full kaboodle, posh van, posh uniform, little digital test / sync. meter, this guy had a laptop, a usb modem, and a box of broken wires, nothing more. He didn't act like an SFI, plus his knowledge was terrible  Angry His usual and most common comment was "well I've had ADSL for years and I've never heard of anything like this"  Roll_eyes
Fair enough he might have been a useless SFI, but he was even bad at that. Our toddler could have changed the sockets and faceplates and made funny ooo ummm and ahhhh noises  Roll_eyes Our toddler would have plugged the wires back in as well, forgot to mention that, he left everything unplugged!  Roll_eyes
Next time, send yourself  Grin You know the saying, if you can't have it done properly by BT send Adam from Plusnet to do it Wink

Re: The Plusnet curse?...7months on!!!!!

Roll_eyes well that'll never happen then!
Got Quest on at the moment, and that stooopid advert is on  Roll_eyes you know the Internet company that pretends it's from Yorkshire and gives up its location in sheffield and pretends to have good honest broadband, you know the one?  Wink Adverts like that should be banned, might give the wrong impression to folks!  Grin
Anyway, thank you for the call, enjoy the book, because you will, time and time again!  Smiley
Will keep an eye out for some post, and will speak to you when you are updated by the people I keep complaining about, ummm BT  Roll_eyes Not that is really their fault, some people keeping trying to blame Plusnet?  Shocked I'll stick with BT thanks Smiley
Chat's you later, will check up on you about the book later Smiley
Hope tonight went well!

Re: The Plusnet curse?...7months on!!!!!

Hey Tim,
No worries re the call. Last night went OK, not happy about a couple of things but I won't go into details its all to do with politics between promoters, venues and the other band and their organization (or lack of), plus one of our guitars was stolen Sad  Anyway you'll know that when you play gigs you have your good ones, you have your bad ones.
Re the book I didn't get time to order it yesterday, going to make a head start on some xmas shopping via amazon later so I'll add it to my order Smiley
re the shirts, I forgot to pick up an Opinicus shirt for you I'm afraid, I'll get the bags and the other item I mentioned in the post today anyway and I've set a reminder (where would I be without my android phone!) to grab one over the weekend for you.
Speak soon,
Adam

No gig should be that bad, and I hope you have insurance to cover the guitar, that's like losing a limb!  Sad That really isn't good news, it's a real shame and a complete pain, especially when politics gets mixed in, at least you know of who and where to steer clear from next time round! Sorry about the guitar, was it one of yours or another member of your band? Sad

DO get the book, it'll be worth every single penny and if I was in a decent position to send your one I would do, it would be quicker to get yourself a copy though!  Smiley You will thank me for it and the author time and time again!

They will be recorded this time  Roll_eyes Adam and I did speak about that on the phone the other night, as for the postie working out where we live, that would be a novel feature of a day to day life  Roll_eyes It gets very annoying when trying to do online shopping and they don't have our post code listed!  Angry Have quite often had "invalid post code entered" message appear  Roll_eyes Great suggestion though avatastic, although the return bags are on an automated system that does quite understand auto properly!  Roll_eyes I'm also sure Adam wouldn't want you to personally pay for it either, I'm sure Plusnet can be squeezed for postage!  Wink Next week we might have a little more room on the welsh dresser as the routers are returned one by one  Wink
Speaking of Internet, Adam, this lack of upload is killing me, 17mins to send an email to my mum with a couple of pics of our little one and the garden in  Angry Can cope with most things but that just makes me want to grind me teeth! Oh, had my dental appointment this afternoon, no problems as well, and didn't even have to recline in the chair!  Smiley
My answer to your stolen guitar is this:

Rock Hard
Rock Heavy
Rock On!

Oh, just to note, yes all of the above is VERY important to the solving of the on going broadband issue we're having, it also makes the customer happy - which is us, we're happy, although not happy about BT ruining the night of what could have been a very good gig! Blaming BT again are we? Yes I am, because if BT had the sense to support and look after their artistic employees, then such a gig would have been deemed pointless as other gigs would have been sought already!  Wink

Its always BT's fault they may deny it but ........
The number of times at work I have checked one of our machines thats not online to find no fault at my end ring BT to get a line checked to be told there is no line fault or fault with there stuff.
I then sit back put my feet up for 5 minutes and watch it miraculously spring back into life  Shocked

Re: The Plusnet curse?...7months on!!!!!

Tongue
well at least it's heading towards page 11, and not 11 months!
.....otherwise I think we'd be expecting a fully paid flight, hotel, spending money and an invite to the Christmas party, might as well throw in a certain live band in there as well, a new router, (hey, we could bring all the old ones with us to save postage!), a couple of years discount, and a partridge in a pear tree  Grin
