Option 2 - I'm fed up just give me the mac code without any hassle.
I think JohnJ-B and others would just like the choice to be able to choose option 2.

How does a company that gives out so much in the way of lies manage to continue trading?

@Strat
I can certainly understand that PN is a business & I certainly would not want it otherwise.
Obviously, I can understand it if it is a simple case of someone wanting to change ISPs, perhaps because of an attractive offer, & PN wanting the opportunity to match it - although this should be done in a way that doesn't antagonise the User.
However, I really cannot understand the Business Model that requires already disgruntled customers to jump through unnecessary hoops to get their MAC.
It is only going to make the situation more caustic &, additionally, it is going fuel the possibility of some very public complaints!
If someone in PN thinks that is a good Business Model, I can only express my dis-belief!
Regards,
John

At the moment lengthy waiting times on a support call are exacerbating the problem.
It is hoped that sooner rather than later support call times will reduce easing the situation.

Plusnet is totally useless.
I can't even find out who to make my cheque out to, and when I ask a question it tells me I have four questions open, which is incorrect, so I can't even ask. So I will just send it made out "Plusnet" and its too bad if it's wrong.
What a totally useless company Plusnet is!
Thank heavens I'm leaving soon, this must be one of the most incompetent companies I've ever had the misfortune to deal with.

What a bizzare thing to say. A typical Plus net groupie response! Why the superfluous "s"?
What the heck has that got to do with how a Mac is requested or issued?
Usually, when a customer requires a Mac they've already decided to go elsewhere and the less than simple way of obtaining one, up to an hour waiting on the 'phone or a letter, will alienate them even more.

Quote from: Strat Plusnet is a business...simples
Why do so many businesses think that the way to make money is to reduce price and go for volume growth when in actual fact most of the those who achieve rapid growth seem to do it by doing the opposite. That is by charging a bit more but giving good service, looking after exisiting customers well. Plusnet itself achieved remarkable growth by using exactly this strategy until recently when it obviously judged that it had reached a point where it could cheerfully dump that. No matter what they say to the contrary. Statements like that above are so simplistic as to be almost laughable, not to mention patronising.
