thanks for the update but my phone line is still completely dead.
The msg i received is a little unclear: "This is just a quick update to say that I've called our suppliers and an engineer has now yet been to visit the exchange. I will perform another check with them tomorrow before updating you again".
Has the engineer been to the exchange?

Is there any update on my ticket?
The last update i received could imply that an engineer visited the exchange yesterday but my line is still dead.

Apologies, an unfortunate typo which should read "an engineer has not yet been to visit the exchange"

Just to update further an engineer should be visiting the exchange before 5pm today.
I'll check back on the progress of this later this afternoon.

Just a msg to say thanks to Adam for sorting the problem out.
My mother has now phone line and broadband working. We have closed the complaint we had originally put through on Saturday.
Some constructive criticism, it would be better if the call centre people had the same expertise and access to systems as the support guys on this forum have.  When my mother rang and when I rang they did not seem to have a clue where things were at.
Also the "sacred cow", BT, needs sorting out but I think that all ISP probably have trouble with this ghastly organisation.
