Re: Unacceptable connection speeds

It is on channel 13, I seem remember changing it from 12 to 13 some time ago. I changed it to 1 prior to posting here, but the connection went all together.

Re: Unacceptable connection speeds

I would try 12, I have found 1 & 13 temperamental with some kit myself.

Re: Unacceptable connection speeds

Ok, I've assessed the connection the last couple of days, no improvement since BT came out and fixed the line. What do I do next?

I haven't seen any speeds from your router since post 45

Re: Unacceptable connection speeds

Can you explain "no improvement" please. At the moment you should be looking for a stable sync sped at the higher level with no loss of sync. As I said in reply #65 it can take some days for the IP Profile to increase and therefore before you see faster speed test results.

Re: Unacceptable connection speeds

@jelv, no problem, I'll leave it til Monday. I think the problem was never connection speed, it was more that it frequently dropped.

Re: Unacceptable connection speeds

Have you had any drops or does the router now show 2 days+ up time?

Re: Unacceptable connection speeds

I have noticed that there is a Globe icon on my router, this is flashing green then off, should this be solid green?

Re: Unacceptable connection speeds

Lee - you still haven't given it enough time since your line was fixed!

Re: Unacceptable connection speeds

I am confident that it will  make no difference, I don't think it is related  to the line. Test carried out by PN show that the connection is consistently dropping, I can't understand why leaving it for a few days will make any difference.
Just out of interest, how long will PN expect to leave it?
I have submitted numerous, support tickets, I've been passed from pillar to post. I initially got scaremongered into not doing anything, the threat of being charged £144 if someone from BT came out and found out it was my problem. That made me delay for a good couple of months. Then I get it fixed and nothing has improved,  I'll just sit on my hands for a couple of weeks I guess.

Re: Unacceptable connection speeds

The only thing I haven't tried because I cannot afford to buy, is a new router, I am not sure if this is a common problem for routers, to fail to work over time, suppose anything electrical device will.
I can purchase a new router if PN can reinburse me if it makes no difference.
As you can probably tell, I am running out of ideas.

Re: Unacceptable connection speeds

Plusnet will usually loan you a router for testing - worth asking

Re: Unacceptable connection speeds

Ok, I will, Plusnet, can you load me a router for testing?
