80/20, to a customer who knows exactly why s/he wants an upload speed greater than 2mb/s - and is willing to pay for it - even though the line won't support a download speed greater than 40mb/s. Surely this can be arranged?

I'm pretty sure we do have a few customers on the higher package with estimates below 40Mbps on download.

Re: Upload Speed

The agent i spoke to wouldn't let me keep the 80/20 package when i moved house.

Re: Upload Speed

"55/10 is only being offered to customers that are on 40/20"

Not an offer as far as I can see. To offer implies an option to choose. There is no choice, imposed would be a more accurate term.

In my case it makes no difference as I only ever get 6-7Mbps upstream - why is there no "acceptable range" for upstream? It's just as important not to be sold short  on both as far as I'm concerned.

If you're currently only getting 6-7Mbps upstream on 40/20, then the change to 55/10 shouldn't really have any adverse affects for you.

The estimates for your line at http://dslchecker.bt.com show an upstream range of 6.1Mbps to 8.7Mbps and a downstream range of 35Mbps to 46Mbps. Judging from the downstream range, the change to 55/10 may only be good for you, as it could allow for slightly higher download speeds while not reducing your upload speeds as you're already below the 10Mbps cap that is coming in.

BT estimates should be taken with a grain of salt

This is the estimates for my line
RiO4dXH

Yet i get 38-40 down, and can get 6-7 up.

So if you wouldn't mind moving me over to the 80/20 package that you say you have given to other people who can't get over 40meg down yet when i requested it here i was told i can't have it.
