Re: WTH!

You will see a big jump in speed when the IP profile shifts from 135Kbps. It should be less than 4 hours from when you rebooted.

Re: WTH!

In that case it has probably already increased. Have you run another BT speedtest?

Re: WTH!

I am still having problems with my broadband.  Have moved the router to allow me to use the ethernet cable.  Just done a BT Speedtest
Download speedachieved during the test was - 88 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-250 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :3776 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 135 Kbps
Am going to look at the router now.
Seriously, I set an album download at 06.50 this morning, 14 songs and 1 video, it managed to finish downloading at around 09.30 and I was unable to do anything else while it downloaded.  It really isn't good, and having to have the eithernet attached is making things less convenient for me.   Undecided

Re: WTH!

Hi there,
Shortly after you posted the above your BT profile jumped up to 3000 to match what is set on our systems, so you should have had a fairly significant improvement since then. Has that happened, or is it still running slowly?

Re: WTH!

Is all working fine now, I downloaded an 40 track album from my iTunes Cloud and it was downloaded and done in minutes.  My mac is connected, have got my wireless printer connected, its all good.
Am now off to start a new thread, for positive feedback  Grin

Re: WTH!

Did you pick up the phone to see if there was any background noise?

noisy phonelines more than likely means theres a "voice fault" on the line (e.g. an issue regarding the voice service), if theres an issue with the voice service, 99% of the time theres an issue with the broadband service.
It may require you raising a phone fault, and getting an engineer to come take a look at the line itself, what sort of noise is it? Popping? Hissing? Crackling?

Re: WTH!

would a fault not have been picked up during the checks before switching me from my previous provider?
