Quote from: Jameseh It sounds very silly, but because you have a fault on your line, we are unable to raise a fault until the order fully closes.
C'mon James this is getting to be appalling in terms of good customer relations. Trotting out this old "Computer say no!" chestnut - I'm sure that if someone senior enough at Plusnet got directly in touch at an appropriately senior level in BT things would happen. It always does when Watchdog or the Saturday Times becomes involved - along with suitable 'abject apologies', so here's an opportunity to just nip it in the bud!

As a point of interest, I did not say that YOU had lied James, merely that others have lied in the last 10 weeks and they have and I can prove it.
Still no promised 'phone call at 16.50 today (another clients house) but I assume that means no further excuses or chance of broadband in the near future. Ah well.
I'll try to keep this bubbling whenever I see clients and therefore have internet access. You would not believe how much stress and lost earnings this is causing. We look after Children and I fix computers.

We're just waiting for confirmation of the order closure. I'd rather not call to give you no further news.
I'm really hoping this order will be closed tonight so that we can get some movement.
I really can't begin to say how sorry I am for how long this has gone on for. We are really frustrated about it but I am certain this is nothing compared to what you have been feeling.

Apologies that no body has been in-touch at 16:50, we feel that James' update was sufficient enough and didn't feel the need to call you to explain the same thing and didn't want to bother you with the same update. We will check the order first thing tomorrow and be in touch. You will here from either Luke/James or myself.
Sorry for the wait Ian.

Just a quick update if you get chance to view this, our CEO Jamie is aware of your situation and has taken this up with BT.
We'll be in-touch at some point later today.

Quick update. Now been waiting THREE months for broadband after misselling of fibre by Plusnet.
Further, we have had absolutely no trace of internet for 16 days and counting since the last engineer came to the house.
We have been advised by plusnet that we MAY get internet back on 06 November. So what happens after then is unclear.
Incredible that this is taking so long for what appears to be such a simple problem. We had broadband with plusnet before being missold fibre in July, now we have nothing.
Might we have broadband back before December? Any bets.
Best wishes

Still no return of broadband after 12 weeks. Even the previous 400k helped a little. But absolutely not a trace of ANY Internet now for 20 days.
Still hoping for November 06, if not I really don't know where to go.
Poor service from Plusnet, Wholesale, Openreach. All owned by the dreaded privatised B.T.
Get your act together guys, or at least try unplugging your router for a week and judge how 12 weeks feels.
Merry Christmas just in case.

I too am a rural customer with a line 12.6k long, at the very edge of tolerance for service and know full well the effect just a few k drop in speed has. Long story short dropping from my old 750k I now see fluctuations between 450k down to 0k since openreach came out to 'fix' my line errors and made an utter &*~££s of it.
The reason for commenting is to share a piece of knowledge that may or may not be of relevance to your particular situation.
I am not sure how this would apply to fibre but it certainly does to copper. In my local exchange bt have 2 different makes of cabinet. One I think is by marconi, the other I cannot recall the manufacturer but only one of them is capable of providing broadband successfully on a long line - sorry I can't remember which is which but I do know that not all openreach engineers share this knowledge either. The engineer installing my broadband, our local expert, only found it out because he discussed problems he was having with one of the old specialist exchange engineers who happened to be in there whilst he was working. Now it might not apply in your case but, I would have thought, at some stage during the attempt to provide fibre a lift and shift will have been carried out. In which case to return to copper the same thing may have happened in reverse. If the same branding issue applies to cabinets in your exchange it is possible that between the two L&Ss you might have been moved from one to the other and if so then this might be what is causing some if not all of your current dsl problem.
A second issue we have here is the cabling. We have 2 cables supplying the village, one old and one newer of heavy duty copper. Only the newer heavy duty copper cable is capable of carrying broadband successfully.
Like I say I don't know if this information is relevant in your situation and, if it is, I'm not sure how you can use it but I do hope that your problem turns out to be this simple.
Good luck
Happy Easter

I appreciate to others reading how silly this is probably sounding.

At yet another clients house, so a quick update.
Now over 12 weeks without broadband and this now includes 31 days without ANY FORM of Internet access. 100% clean line but no Internet.
We have even been called by someone from the great God B.T but still nothing as of today.
A lot of people seem to be working to get this resolved, but "The System" is an easy one to blame. Maybe we need to change the system that B.T uses huh?
And the next question is (assuming we do eventually get broadband back) how on earth do you figure out the appropriate level of compensation.
We are reasonable people but have been sorely upset by the lack of this now essential service. Not having proper internet access on demand is something we have found difficult to live with. Try it for one week and see.
All comments gratefully received.
Bye for now, virus removal work to do and I hate Window$ P.Cs
Best wishes
