Why such poor advice from Plusnet

With the data transfer problems that have occurred, these Service Status have been posted -
http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1342647058.htm
http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1342680527.htm
Such suggestions should be qualified by leaving the modem/router off for around 10 minutes at least.
Any encouragement to do repeated power down/up's or reboots in quick succession is very poor advice as this could cause severe problems for anyone resulting in raised Target Noise Margins or possible banding (21CN).
This initial one wasn't quite as bad

However, encouraging anyone to unnecessarily cause a resync at night especially if they are on 20CN exchanges is poor advice.
This one is better advice

We're addressing that this morning, I noticed the recommendation to power down and up 5 times too.

Re: Why such poor advice from Plusnet

Just as a small update, I've informed our Customer Support Centre staff this morning of the correct process to resolve the issues we are seeing.
Thanks for highlighting this Chris Smiley
