Quote from: Anotherone Paying a supplementary subscription for (the right) TV service is the fairest way.
I second that emotion.
Quote from: PeterLoftus ...there are no free lunches all extras are to be paid for and it will go on all our bills.
I for one want the best value Internet and phone only and not a bloated service
Aren't the phone services "extras"?
Am I subsidising your phone service?

No you need the phone service to have an ISP but you do have a choice who you give this business to

So even though I'm only about half-way into an 18-month fibre contract with Plusnet that would be tempting - unless they follow suit.

I still refused. I wasn't sure if it was a genuine offer or a test to see if my complete hatred for Sky could be compromised but I refused point blank to have anything to do with them again.

Quote from: Stoker It's rumoured that Sky will be slashing their internet prices in August if you subscribe to Sky Sports (which I do anyway): ADSL Unlimited will be free and Fibre Unlimited will be £12:50.
Interesting, they're basically dropping the price of both by £7.50.
Sky Sports is £21 a month, though it's worth noting
Quote *Sky TV price will increase on 1 September 2013 by up to 10% in accordance with our standard terms.
ESPN will cease to be available on the Sky TV subscription service after 31 July.
So it'll be £23 a month once the footy season beds in.

Hopefully Plusnet will be offering the possibility for us to get access to BT Sport at a reasonable rate so that it remeins competitive. We have been very happy with Plusnet since switching from O2 earlier this year, and would love to be able to stay.
If you are looking for triallists, please count us in as we would love to help out, (and get in early).

I, too, would throw my hat in the ring to be on any TV trial.
However, given BT Sport starts on 1st August, and the first Premiership matches are 17th August, is there enough time for a trial?
Also, BT are offering free HD for a year if you order broadband before 1st August.
I will be looking to jump to BT by mid-July if PlusNet has nothing to offer on this front.
PlusNet has less than four weeks to get its act together.

Are you mad?
Football mad, maybe.
You wont see much of it on BT, the idiots couldn't make a cup of tea let alone give you working internet
And then there is the foreign call centre... *shudderz*

No, not quite left.
As above, I will assess my options mid-July.
By that time, the TV schedules should have been set for who shows which matches.
(I believe the deadline is July 7th-ish).

What is your experience of BT Broadband, Devonian?
I think I had a query with my phone bill a couple of years ago, and used the Live Chat via BT.com:
seemed to work fine.
But, as I say, I am football mad (though not mad enough, or rich enough, to pay SKY high prices), so swapping
£10 a month PlusNet for £16 a month BT is looking tempting, despite the supposed risks.
