If Primus saver is not worth your while try the Post Office or Tesco Telecom.
What do your think of them?

I forgot to add Utility Warehouse.  I mentioned this in a previous thread.  They do cheap call rates and calling features are better the Primus saver but you have to pay an extra £1.50 a month.

@poppy I will probably still use 18185, but tbh my calling is usually only a couple of calls a week offpeak, so I go with E&W/E's. The £2.50 for caller display is extortionate though.

Just received this through the post this morning
Unlimited Anytime Plan £4.99 per month (first 3 months free) plus line rental £9.99 per month if I pay 12 months in advance and it includes number display for free
Current Plusnet cost for a year £206.88 (including number display)
Change back to BT and the cost for a year is £164.79
Saving over a year £44.09 in the first year and £29.12 in subsequent years
Looking at the new phone package - cost for 12 months ignoring the free months £197.76 and with the free months £187.26
Saving by going back to BT is now £22.47 in the first year and £18 per year subsequently - a big improvement - so is it worth the hassle  Undecided

Oldjim - please would you confirm the telephone number on the flyer?  I have probably thrown mine away as I can't find it. The one I have is 0800 002 002.  I find it best to deal with the promotions/special deals people as they are more up to speed with things.
Also, having recently talked to Plusnet staff about the matter I was advised to call in to the customer retentions team but they only work office hours.

At least with the phone you don't need a MAC so can go ahead without bothering them

Re: You need a new home phone deal otherwise I am moving back to BT

I'm on Anytime and make virtually no landline calls during the day as I have 600 free minutes on my mobile.
Thanks for the number Jim...it's on my to-do list now....and I won't be bothering the retentions team as I imagine they will be extra busy now.

I was thinking that, as well  Smiley
God bless 18185 as it saves me money on calls to my daughter's mobile and, at 5p a call to landlines, I'd need to make a lot of calls to justify anytime.

Re: You need a new home phone deal otherwise I am moving back to BT

Just had an email from Plusnet about changes to Homephone Anytime.  Anyone else seen this?
Call component seems to be £3.50 with three months free. There was a link but when I got there it did not explain the offer.
Please can someone explain a bit better?    Huh

Re: You need a new home phone deal otherwise I am moving back to BT

Have just come off the telephone to BT re Line Saver Rental (autumn) deal and have moved my account onto this.
Bill now comes in at £9.99 line rental + £4.99 Anytime calls - Total £14.98 per month.  I already get caller display free.
He said that the call component might go up in January due to VAT increase but of course the line rental is now pegged.
With regards to the call element he says that you don't have to make charged calls - it is just 6 calls (I think that this is per quarter but not sure)- free or otherwise.  Seems a bit queer to me but not complaining.  Would be more relevant for folk who go away for a while but then they probably would not have this package anyway.
There is another deal apparently (which might suit some folk better) where you get £3 off per month discount and this we calculated at £15.28 per month so it would have been 30p per month more but the line rental is held at £9.99 per month so that is why I went for the former.

Yes, it would be per quarter - it's usually quoted as 2 per month.

Re: You need a new home phone deal otherwise I am moving back to BT

Thank you for confirming that.  Only problem with the deal (which won't suit everyone) is that it is a 12 month contract so line rental is non-returnable.  Also it is rather a large sum to pay up front.
However, on the plus side it is cheaper than PN especially if you take into account caller display which I get free anyway.  Also, the only direct debit now is for £4.99 per month.
