Downstream Handback Threshold?

On BT's ADSL checker thing I've noticed a new column "Downstream Handback Threshold"

The description of it underneath is vague and doesn't say anything "In order to be eligible for handback, downstream speed should be less than Downstream Handback Threshold values."

Any idea what this is?

Re: Downstream Handback Threshold?

I noticed that too.

My thoughts are something to do with handing back the customer to their previous supplier.

But hopefully somebody with more knowledge will 'spill the beans' soon enough.

The maximum speed at which Openreach will accept a fault?  Undecided

The question has also been asked here on TBB but no definitive replies yet.

Re: Downstream Handback Threshold?

its looks confusing and a mess to be honest!

Different "handback" threshold for clean and impacted lines, but the availability checker cant tell you if you are on a clean or impacted line.

Do if I take the clean handback value it is usually within the impacted speed range.

The Impacted range "the term "Impacted" relates to a line which may have wiring issues (e.g. Bridge Taps) and/or Copper line conditions." means you are still no wiser as you might be on an impacted line and have a much lower handback threshold!

I see they also have SOGEA and 18x2 but no g.fast date assuming that is just bundeled into the speed range being faster.
