Running Linux Mint 21.1. vera
Had a problem with Firefox, not keeping the STYLUS background colours on restarting , so I "purged" firefox, and then re-installed it... problem solved,
During the "troubleshooting" i thought I would check on the version currently running.
116.0.2 However, there is a note on there as follows
Updates disabled by your system administrator
I assume that is ME !... but I have not ( as far as I know ) disabled updates... and whenever an update for FF is announced, I always allowed it with my authorisation... and assume that it did actually update.
so.. is it up to date... and does the note mentioned above, refer to "automatic" firefox generated updates... if so.. no problem... but I would like to know the answer.
Thanks
Fixed! Go to the fix.

@shutter Firefox updates are being managed by the Mint update manager
https://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=4244
In Linux Mint the Update Manager is responsible for all software updates, and applying updates requires root privileges.
“Your browser is being managed by your organization” might look a bit scary but all it means is that Firefox was told to not worry about updating itself.
In the About dialog, “Updates disabled by your system administrator” has the same meaning.
We’ll work with Mozilla on this, first to rephrase this, and hopefully later this year to be able to handle Firefox updates from within Firefox.
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

I'm running FF on Zorin 16.3 and see nearly the same as @Baldrick1 , with the additional comments 'Firefox for Ubuntu'/Canonical 1.0'. Where exactly do you see the 'automatic updates...' comment, @shutter ?

@jab1 @MisterW @Baldrick1 Thanks for the info guys.
so no worries about updates.... as for "automatic" updates... I was referring to FF sending them out separtely ( or not ) . as I was not sure how it updates on Windows and other o.s`s.
summing up. Linux takes care of it.... Thank you Linux !
here`s a pic of my "about" firefox .
