THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING THE TIME AND TROUBLE TO OFFER SOLUTIONS. If I'm honest, I'll say that I still don't know what to do to stop the phone from shutting me out/off every now and then. HOWEVER, it IS working at the moment so I'll leave well alone. When it next does strange things, I'll religiously go through all your suggestions, one by one.
