Hi,
Started using LM on an old HP TouchSmart AIO, and loving it, super fast and very easy to use.
One questions for LM experts out there.
I have in my 'File explorer' nero? mounted my NAS shares and can see then, read/write and delete works OK.
I would like to 'view' these mount in 'my computer' alongside my home documents/pictures/music/videos etc.
Reading up it states, right click and 'make link' the make link option is not shown on my NAS mounts.
Any advise
thanks
Dean
Fixed! Go to the fix.

Which OS is the system you're trying to connect to the share from?
For windows there are couple of options,
Add a network location
Using This PC - File Explorer select 'This PC' right click should expose "Add a network location"
Try using either the hostname or IP Address, \\<hostname>\share or \\<NAS IP Address>\share
or Add network drive - this add share as a 'Drive letter' found by clicking the three dots
Maybe this link as well https://windows.do/connect-to-network-storage-devices-from-windows-11/

I did ask which OS he's try to connect from, I gave the windows option while I was asking the question.
Perhaps you'd like to help him with the question rather than picking holes in my posts?

Sorry, @Dan_the_Van , I honestly wasn't 'picking holes in your post' - I just thought from the original post it was obvious he was using Mint.
I would help with question if I could, but it's off my pay grade.

Are you using the Cinnamon desktop version of Mint? If so, the default file explorer is "Nemo".
Have you tried mounting the folders that are on the NAS in Nemo and creating bookmarks to them, by opening the folder in Nemo then clicking on "Bookmarks" at the top, then "Add Bookmark"?
Most of my documents and files are stored on our NAS, so that they can be accessed from either my desktop, laptop - or even my phone! The NAS is mounted whenever either PC is booted up:

sorry if I was a bit prickly
I took the right click as possibly being windows 'File Explorer' as that's how you setup a link to a network drive.

Thanks @Mr_Paul I have the mounts as bookmarks in Nemo, see screenshot.
What I need is to be able to move/mirror the bookmarks into my Home folder so that they are along side the other folders shown in the attached.
reason is that a couple of programs do not recognise the bookmarks and only look it the home folder location for files
Regards
Dean

Sorry, I can't help you with that one.
Try a web search and the Linux Mint forums:

@mystreet1 does this https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=356221 help?. I would guess you can create a similar link to the share in your Home directory

@MisterW perfect, thanks for searching for me. I did look in the mint forum but not for desktop shortcut.
Opens the mounts perfectly, and now the apps can see them.

Sorry about the incorrect information in my first post, I will admit to interpreting your question incorrectly. your revised question was clearer to me.
Edit: Once again @MisterW came up with the answer without the need of a dissertation on the subject
