Mcafee v ccleaner

For those who use ccleaner, you might have noticed in the latest edition of the cleaner that they have in applications clean section included mcafeee virus scan.
I asked ccleaner why and i got a load of bull..t  so i contacted mcafee and they were outraged to discover this.
Mcaffe have told me that in no way should anyone allow ccleaner to  wipe the mcafee logs, so if you use ccleaner please , according to mcafee, untick the  mcaffee virus scan box.
hope this helps.

Re: Mcafee v ccleaner

Mcafee, wow been a while since I have seen anyone use that but I think the advice they gave would be the advice that any of the vendors of the listed applications in ccleaner would give. They all want to 'protect' their products and let them run as they want to, usually spewing useless junk all over your computers hard drives. Mcafee is no exception, the log files are just that. Unless you have a real need to examine the log files that mcafee produces, they are safe to clean - they are just more junk that you dont need on your computer Smiley
