My sister has sought my advice re replacing her standard analogue handsets. It would appear that she is best advised to buy VOIP phones in anticipation of the switch to digital in 2025. Is this correct?
Fixed! Go to the fix.

Unless she needs a new phone now I would hold off until nearer the time to see what's available and what advice is given by her telecom supplier.
Depending on her phone, she may be able to use an Analogue Telecom Adapter (ATA) to keep her existing handset.

Do you realise the implications of getting a digital VoIP phone? Sorry if I'm stating the obvious but the services to which they are connected are totally different. You can't just plug a digital phone in place of an analogue one.

Yes, I now realise that. I've advised her to postpone a new purchase for a couple of years.
