It's been a while since I looked at the G.INP stuff, but the Hub One behaves the same way as a model A BT Home Hub v5 in this respect (compatible on the downstream but not on the upstream?).
Using a Hub One, my line is in sync at 19999 / 79906 with a maximum attainable downstream of 88875kbps.

I see the Plus One has a USB port. Is this configurable for a usb printer connection and/or an external usb hard drive?

Huawei and my line has had retransmission applied before when I've been using Broadcom kit.

External storage yes. USB printer no (at least it's not something that's supported).

Another question - why aren't you providing the type B - is this because you are using BT old stock
What are the advantages - if any - of the Lantiq chipset over the Broadcom

The device won't respond to ICMP echo requests. I'm currently working around this by sticking a device in the DMZ and having that do the job instead.

I wasn't party to the decision, but we're not using old stock. AIUI BT have been known to alternate between stock variants in the past anyway. On a personal note, when I used a type B earlier in the year, I had problems with certain aspects of the port forwarding that I never managed to fix.

I suspect they both have their merits depending on the circumstances. There's a lot of variables involved with each individual broadband circuit.

Or you could just buy your own combined modem/router and when you order fibre and tell PN not to bother shipping the free one. You don't need to use a router supplied by PN. They don't require us to and any router can be configured to work with PN's service.
