Smart Plug unable to Connect

I have Plusnet Hub 2 set up yesterday. All wifi devices and smart bulbs working once i turned off 5ghz. However cannot get any of my smart plugs to connect. They all worked fine with my Sky router a couple of days ago., 3 different brands, tried 3 different apps, smartlife, aigosmart & wiz. Any suggestions/help would be much appreciated.

@Glen72

Have you tried a factory reset on the plugs and starting again from scratch? They may be hanging on to the Sky IP address which might well use a different range.

@Glen72

Log in to the hub and go to the Advanced Settings/Wireless page. Change the Wireless Mode to 2 and if that doesn’t work try 3.

Re: Smart Plug unable to Connect

@Glen72

Try this

1) Turn the router off at the mains or turn off both 2.4 and 5GHz signals on the Hub. This is to ensure all wireless signals are stopped
2) Using a mobile device create a 2.4GHz mobile hotspot that has the same SSID and password credentials as the Hub
3) Try to setup your smart device using the hotspot created above.
4) After the smart device is setup and is connecting shutdown your hotspot and turn your router back on.

Hopefully the devices will successfully connect to the 2.4GHz band of your router.

Re: Smart Plug unable to Connect

Thanks, I'll try this. Bizarrely brand new WiFi sockets work straight away. I've tried to reset old sockets to delete old IP but the reset doesn't work, any way to reset other than hold button for 5+ seconds?

Re: Smart Plug unable to Connect

What make and model are the WiFi sockets?

Usually a silly question these days, but have you searched for a remedy for this problem?
