I am longstanding and satisfied plusnet phone and broadband customer.
I am now looking to add a tv package.
Does this mean that I man now likely to have leave plusnet?

Glad to hear you're a longstanding and satisfied customer!
Wanting TV doesn't necessarily mean you have to leave Plusnet. You can remain with Plusnet for broadband and phone and take out TV with another provider.

Am in a similar position and my fibre contract is up this month. Is there any indication when the Plusnet IPTV is likely to start? The current deal for BT TV and infinity 2 is looking too good to miss at the moment? Likewise I don't want to leave Plusnet but the deals on TV services do seem to centre around taking broadband?
Thanks

As it stands we don't have a confirmed date for TV going live, unfortunately
We understand that this does make it very difficult to compete with other providers out there. An idea is to see what deals you can get from another provider if you took TV and broadband and also if you took TV only. Then come back to us and speak to our Customer Options team to see what the best deal we can give you for broadband and phone and compare the difference - it may still work out cheaper to leave broadband with us and take TV alone with another provider?

TV Suppliers:
Freeview - No subscription, free to air channels only
Freesat - no subscription, free to air channels only
SKY, Various packages from £21.50 per month
Virgin - Cabled areas only, from £16 per month (without Virgin phone line)
BT - Only available with BT Broadband
TalkTalk - Only available with TalkTalk Broadband
So, only Sky (or Sky + Virgin in cabled areas) avaiable for use alongside Plusnet Broadband for anything other than free to air channels (or have I missed something?).

I certainly don't want Talk Talk but the BT TV with Infinity 2 is good value with the benefits of free BT Sport. Obviously I won't post it because this is Plusnet.
It's just a shame Plusnet can't give us any feedback on the TV Trials and even a rough timescale. It's probably only my line rental saver having 9 months left that I haven't jumped ship, but that can be negated with the cashback from quidco to swap to BT.

A Youview/Freeview box gives you many options.
A NOWTV or Roku box give you many options too without a long term contract.

Personally I do not want any kind of TV. alas my 15 year old daughter ids threatening to report to me to the RSPCC, as apparently not providing TV packages for teenagers is tantamount to child cruelty.
Neither ROKU or Now provide enough of what is required alas....

You've discounted Now and Roku but not commented about anything else.
Does Freeview and/or Freesat cover the channels you (or your daughter) want?
Does BSkyB cover the channels you (or your daughter) want?
Does Virgin Media cover the channels you (or your daughter) want?
Does BT TV cover the channels you (or your daughter) want?
Does Talk Talk cover the channels you (or your daughter) want?
Decide what channels you want and then select the appropriate platform Only the last two mean migrating away from PN

I'm concerned however that part of my subscription to Plusnet goes to Openreach and part goes to BT as Pusnet's owner and some of this revenue is going to support BTs marketing efforts supplying free TV packages
