Text not sending number formatted incorrectly

I have just tried to send a text but got a message saying it hadn't sent as number was formatted incorrectly. I've checked the number and tried deleting and re-entering it but still won't send. Why is this?

How is the number formatted on your phone, though? 07xxx xxxxxx or +447xxx xxxxxx?

Are you using plusnet mobile, and trying to text a short code number?

I do not think plusnet mobile support short code texting.

OK, @LizB Only suggestion I can think of at the moment is to delete the number from the 'address book', if that is where it is, and re-enter it, if other numbers are not exhibiting this problem, although if you are replying, this suggests that the issue is at the other end, and your correspondents number is somehow formatted incorrectly. Is it one you can  call and talk on?

Another thought are you texting a UK number? If you are not you need to replace the leading zero with +<country code>

Example for France it would be +33

A UK number would be 11 digits when the area code is not used.
