I need to be able to access a machine in my home remotely and was wondering if the hub 2 allows for this by way of VPN tunnelling or similar. What the best, most secure way some of you are handling this?

Hi @khaled35
The Hub two does not provide a VPN server for you to connect to.
So could buy a router which does or perhaps consider using remote access software like Teamviewer or Any Desk.
These remote access applications do have some risks as unless made secure with strong passwords they can be a gateway into your device for people who like to help themselves to your personal details and money.
I setup a raspberry pi to be an openVPN server which works very well.
What system are you wanting to connect to?

If you want to use a VPN server, you can use the Hub Two in bridge mode (as a modem) and buy a router only device with a built in VPN server.

The Hub2 does not have a VPN server but you can use it to access one inside your network.
If you have another machine (eg windows, raspberry pi etc) then just setup a vpn server on that and then on the Hub2, setup port forwarding to that device. Once you are connected to that device via vpn you should be able to access your 3d printer as if you were on the network directly at home.
In short, Hub 2 does not have a VPN server / end point but can forward incoming VPN traffic to the vpn enabled device of your choice on your network.

I also use a RaspberryPi as a VPN server but with Wireguard rather than OpenVPN.
PiVPN makes set-up easy.. See <https://pivpn.io/>

My thinking behind using a router with a built in VPN server was mainly around raspberry pi not being freely available and those that are a have become expensive.
A raspberry pi does require a level of technical knowledge but here are many help pages online.

@Newbie22 welcome to the community
To add a port forward rule, from the Firewall section of the Hub Two click on "Create a new port forwarding rule"
The name needs to be unique, I would suggest home-vpn.
Use the device name rather than the IP Address.
Add the necessary data into the fields and click on + to create the new rule.
The rule will look something like this
