It's too late for me
I've spent a large part of my working life in substations and power stations up to 132kV. I'm not sure whether the LV at 415V and 3000A is more of a hazard.
I used to do switching which involves arcing, and used to do phasing and voltage testing with probes poked up the bus bar switchgear connectors. So add the radiation from air travel and working at Sellafield I've exceeded my dose with no apparent effects.
So I'm pretty laid back about the risks of domestic sources of radiation.
BTW did anyone see the programme recently on BBC 4 on Nikoli Tesla - Shock and Awe the Story of Electricity. It's on catchup now. See some proper arcing

When you put it like that Peter I do have to wonder if i need to worry... but then i've heard so many other tales of things involving EM that I find myself thinking its best to not take any risks - especially when they are so protective of an unborn faetus being exposed to strong magnetic fields etc.
All the time my son was unborn i kept the wifi turned off completely... only for the missus to then end up using her 4G phone right next to her belly.
I have to wonder why i bother with good intentions sometimes...

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

There does some a point where transmissions can become "fun", especially when stupidity is involved, like last year when some teens decided to climb up Pontop Pike (my local transmitter):

I still wished they went a little further up, would have been another set of Darwin awards for them as they were cooked alive...

Quote Officers swooped on the homes of the youngsters after video footage of the dangerous prank on Pontop Pike at Dipton, near Stanley, County Durham, was posted on social networking website, Facebook.
I like it when they say "swooped" - can't they just knock on the front door, like normal people?

They prefer swooping as when walking they often trip over and sue for job related damages.

Well, they must employ Spiderman to get to the perps, he likes to swoop a lot...
