Yikes! Just ran out of a long, late meeting to post this EOD. Busy, busy. Got a train to catch in 15 minutes! Looks like everyone else must have been busy too as we only have news from three departments. Marketing: Today we've been carrying on our work to improve the Broadband Your Way product pages and I've also been writing some emails to be sent next week. We've also had our regular Monday meeting where we talk about the work we have planned for the week. Chris is out of the office this week, which means he's got a bit of time to recover from the 10k run at the weekend. I knew that proper training would win out over beer and bacon... Web Team: Given it's Monday, we've all been going through what our objectives for the week are, for each of the 3 teams. Work has continued on the templates and emails for Brightview Phase 2, while Colin has built a script to enable Jonny and Pete to follow the bugs easily. Work has also continued on the work needed for the User Generated content that James has been working on, while Colin has been staring at regular expressions and code for most of the day. Our internal support team has also been looking after the day to day business that comes up. This looks to be an interesting week, so here's hoping it turns out to be one. Development: My name is Manu, I am from India and work for QBurst Technologies one of PlusNet’s technology partners based in Kerala. I am part of a team staying in the UK at the moment to help PlusNet with development of new systems, as PlusNet have so many projects on the go. We have been here for two months and three weeks now. It has been a really great experience coming over here and being able to work with the PlusNet guys. They have been more helpful, inspiring, and keen to share their knowledge than I ever expected. We have also been privileged to meet the LCST members from Poland, and working with people from nearly every part of the World has been great, great experience We have visited a few places around South Yorkshire, and one place we all really liked was Castleton. 4 of us will be going back to India on 11th of May and are really looking forward to having rice and curry, which we missed so badly for the last 2 months. (English curries are OK but they should have a little bit more salt and spices in them! One of the most memorable things we have done here was hosting an Indian dinner to a few of our PlusNet colleagues. It was the beer and coke that ran out first, because I think the food was a little bit "too hot". For the next time, we are actually planning to cook some Indian-English kind of food so that our guests won’t have tears while eating! We are also looking forward to a party at Andy's home this Saturday (one of the UK developers). We’ll be having some Homely English food and ale. Happily it’s on Saturday, so we can recover by noon on Sunday, in time to go back to work early on Monday!
