End of Day 23rd April
24-04-2008
1:30 AM
It's my turn to do the End of Day this week, and I can't think of anything to say that's witty or interesting so we'll just get right in to the summaries. First up, Phil (and Mike) from the CSC.
Good afternoon from the guys and gals from the CSC. Here is our spring afternoon update: 1 - Router set up Here is ye old favourite. You know I have a feeling of De Ja Vou when I write the top 5 now :). It is a continuation of people that require assistance with the set up of the routers. This is caused by customers that haven't had the chance to get their usernames or password and others that are not comfortable with setting up the routers. 2 - E-mail Clients This is similar to the router set up at #1 but with e-mail clients instead. 3 - Prov Updates These calls are being generated for new orders, delayed orders and customers that appear to have incompatible products on their line. A lot is standard requests of which we will continue to get regardless. 4 - Usage Queries This is a newbie for the Top 5. There has been a pick up of people querying their usage today. There are no clear patterns for this but we will keep an eye out for this over the coming week just in case. (Ed: Possibly last night's problem?) 5 - Faults Our faults guys are busy people nowadays for the faults and it is not a surprise that it remains in the top 5 at the moment. The good news is that we have Mick from the Business team/Quality guru giving training to more of the CSC peeps which we hope will have a knock on effect for improving the faults queues and experience. We have been celebrating Saint Georges Day today with quiz's prizes and even drawing pictures. The winners have been getting prizes ranging from Microwave Bangers & Mash to boxes of Chocolate and not forgetting my favorite, Beer! Simon has organized a lucky dip which was fun. Thanks for reading
Eipe from Development
This is Eipe, another member of the QBurst team, working with Plusnet on a small project- Brightview Phase II. Let me start by saying 'Namaskaram' to all of you, which is how, we Indians greet one another. So, do remember to greet us with a ‘Namaskaram’ hereafter :). About work, it was a very hectic day in Dev, with all of us busy fixing the bugs raised by the QA and we hope to get them resolved as soon as possible, besides the tight deadlines. Afternoon I attended the presentation 'Mail API' by Andy as part of the training for Polish LCST. We had a short BV2 meeting as well and it was a sight to watch Ben preparing the presentations for his India trip. This is pretty much for the updates from the Dev team. Let me conclude by saying that it is exciting to work with the Plusnet team here, with loads of learning and memories to carry back home. Have fun, Eipe
