Hello readers! It's getting ever closer to Christmas and today it's our staff Christmas party, wooooooooooo! Having said that, I've had a bit of a headache today.. I reckon I'll lie down for an hour or so before heading out. As a result of all the excitement it's been a little difficult to gather posts for this weeks report, but we'll start with the ever reliable HR, here's Barbara!
Recruitment tasks, recruitment tasks, recruitment tasks…plus Jen initiated some charity Xmas wishes for the Sheffield Children’s hospital We prepared for the next PNOTM meeting plus we put together HR slides for next weeks Rally. Finally, we submitted our entry into the Best Companies competition. Finally, we’re having our Christmas party tonight, so to get into the spirit of the season, I’ll finish off with HR’s Christmas Cracker Joke: “What do you get if you cross a centipede with a parrot?” * A walkie talkie!....go on…laugh please
Oh dear.. I think that actually was from a Christmas Cracker, same level of quality if not! Next we have a new name for you, here's Matt from the CPE team.......oh no, wait I hear someone shouting at the back of the room - "WHAT'S A CPE?" I'll let Matt explain, he does it much more eloquently than me
Andrew: what does CPE stand for? Matthew: consumer premises equipment Andrew: ta
Matthew: may be wrong actually, i thought it was consumer, but wikipedia the fountain of all knowledge says "Customer-premises equipment or customer-provided equipment (CPE) is any terminal and associated equipment located at a subscriber's premises and connected with a carrier's telecommunication channel(s) at the demarcation point ("demarc"). The demarc is a point established in a building or complex to separate customer equipment from telephone company equipment."
So there you go, and now back to the actual post...
First end of week post from me, this week We've been keeping an eye on our stock levels to make sure there are plenty of routers available for all our new customers. We've shuffled around our next hardware delivery date so we're not affected by the Christmas/New Year vacation. We've placed a couple of new orders with our supplier for delivery of more routers in the new year and we've been looking at a feature called Wi-Fi Protected Setup that is supported by our wireless routers. Have a good weekend! Matt
Always good to get new blood in the place! At the time of writing, that's the last post but with little luck and Christmas cheer, more offerings should appear soon. I'll check before I go out later. If not, then have a good weekend and see you next week!
