ADSL2+ disconnects PPP down

Connection had been up for months until disconnected 2 weeks ago then stable until today.

Disconnected at 11:08 & 12:25. Both times PPP failed.

PN server problem?

There are. Which router are you using?

Re: ADSL2+ disconnects PPP down

@jab1  hey John, do you need an updated version of your mind reading software?

Or is @Mardler  just playing hard to get?

Re: ADSL2+ disconnects PPP down

No mind reading needed.

I know what I am doing, I simply need input from PN not others treating me like a newcomer to comms.

@Mardler I am only trying to help - Help Team visibility is low these days - but just tell me you are prepared to wait for them, and I will ignore your posts in future.

Re: ADSL2+ disconnects PPP down

@jab1  From previous threads I suggest giving this one a miss as help from the community is not wanted.

@Mardler With your uncooperative and somewhat superior attitude why do you bother posting on the forum? It isn't an official support channel. Call Plusnet or use social media to contact them directly.

Re: ADSL2+ disconnects PPP down

John, thanks for your comment. I am aware of the scarcity of PN input these days so am happy to wait.

RAM: the comment you posted was from someone who treats everyone like a simpleton with no knowledge of the tech.

FWIW, the disconnects happen in a spell often many months apart; the connection this time had been rock solid for months. The fault is always external to the premises. Once, PN would run their diagnostics and publish the results here, very helpful. They would then raise the issue with OR.

Btw, my career was largely in IT with comms involvement at a low level & system design. I built my own PCs from the start and later taught our son*: he was working in DOS at age 10 - he still builds his own kit & is now better than me. A nephew owns a global comms company. We have a bit of experience between us.

*currently staying with us and working via the 'net: he had the first disconnect during an international conference call. He has switched to phone data as the PN broadband is unreliable at the moment.

(Modem/router is a Billion 7800DXL configured by me to our needs. The system log is excellent for diagnosis.)

By all means chip in with suggestions re PN problems but telling me to check the basics is not helpful especially for you.

Re: ADSL2+ disconnects PPP down

Hey there @Mardler ran a line check and there's no issues that side but I can see the drops that are happening. The line is testing at 16.5. http://visualradius.plus.net/visualradius/generated/image16909106185556.png is what the connection looks like, so I am guessing if all checks have been done like you say, and you've tried a new router, it will be an engineer needed. When would you be free for an engineer?
