Advice Please on reconnection

My neighbour is cutting a tree down.
BT has been engaged to take the phone-line to my house down for a few hours and then reconnect to avoid damage to the line.

This shows my connections:-

I have Unlimited Fibre, with copper to the house
I can reach the power supply to the OpenReach box fairly easily but have mobility difficulties

What steps should I take to disconnect and reconnect please?

@TW

There should be no need to do anything. It should just reconnect automatically.

Fix

@TW You should not have to take any steps. You should reconnect automatically when the line is restored.

Re: Advice Please on reconnection

If it was me,  I'd just pull the DSL cable out of the phone master socket, and then put it back after the work is done.

If you really wanted to be pedantic, you could log in to your router's web interface, and then click on <Disconnect> associated with the PPPoE WAN connection, and then wait 5 minutes before pulling the DSL cable out of the master socket.

What is the risk that one seeks to mitigate here?

Probably trying to avoid DLM banding if the disconnection isn't a clean break ?

@Niburu

Thanks for the clear and explicit adv9ce
@Townman

I have had problems with my connection speeds, sometimes without apparent reason. This is what I wanted to guard against.

@Baldrick1 and @jab1

Thanks for the advice that doing nothing is OK!

That is the line I shall take as it is easiest for me.

 Plusnet Help Team

My apologies for misinterpreting my connection as Full Fibre and hence posting in the wrong forum section.

I shall wait and see if all is well after reconnection tomorrow!

Good luck ! - I'm sure it'll be fine if you do nothing, and if you do get a speed drop then just ask Plusnet for a line DLM reset.

Re: Advice Please on reconnection

Reconnected!

Thank you all for your help.

As predicted automatic reconnection was without incident and with speed maintained at the upper limit of the estimated download range.(36 - 40Mbps)

Reconnection occurred today largely owing to the help with OpenReach that Plusnet provided for me by telephone,
No thanks to Openreach who failed abysmally to fulfill their agreement for reinistallation of my phone line within the agreed time limits.
