Alternative router that works with plusnet

I'm working with a club that has the One router on a dog-slow DSL connection.

We need to be able to add fully qualified DNS entries in order to support letsencrypt for certificates, and the one only seems to be able to do .lan entries.

Is there a list of known-good alternative routers that work with plusnet that we can look through to find one with a more fully functioned DNS server?

I know that we can just stick these entries in a public DNS server, but I'm not a fan of that, plus we need them to resolve even when the internet connection is down.

Thanks!

On a DSL connection, any combined modem/router that supports configuration of PPPoE for its WAN connection will work.
