Re: Broadband keep on having flashing orange light

“ we don't use landline phone at all”

Does not negate the desirability of being able to test it. Seeking to troubleshoot ADSL or FTTC broadband without access to a telephone handset is like trying to play darts blindfolded. Hitting the board would be pure fluke.

It would have been helpful to have mentioned that this is a new service installation - it would have avoided the presumption that this is a previously working service which had developed a fault.

Re: Broadband keep on having flashing orange light

So you were told on the 21st that the service went live on that date, but waited until today to report a problem? Are you sure you have the Hub connected correctly?

Re: Broadband keep on having flashing orange light

sorry for the late report of the problem

as I'm still a uni student busy during the weekends sorry that I might not be able to report the problem as soon as possible, just trying to help my parents to fix the problem, before reporting the problem just tried to ensure we followed all and double checked all the instruction and solution that they posted in the Plusnet YouTube channel . so I can ensure the Hub is connected correctly

Re: Broadband keep on having flashing orange light

OK. So the Hub is connected correctly, but you are still getting no data through it?

This sounds like an issue somewhere between your parents home and Plusnet - to me.

Can I suggest you report a Broadband problem via https://www.plus.net/help/report-a-problem/broadband/

Re: Broadband keep on having flashing orange light

The flashing orange light suggests you are connected to the 'net but something is wrong somewhere. did you use the link i gave you previously to report the issue, and when? You should receive a response via text within 24 hours giving you further information/help.

@Townman  / @MisterW  - have I missed something/any further thoughts?

Re: Broadband keep on having flashing orange light

As @Townman said earlier , flashing orange means no dsl sync. That suggests either the Hub isn't connected properly , possibly to a filtered socket if connected to an extension, or the adsl circuit isn't active.

Hence I asked how the Hub is connected and what type of master socket exists

Re: Broadband keep on having flashing orange light

Once we get that, then the next step is to connect the Hub directly to the test socket ( if one exists )

Re: Broadband keep on having flashing orange light

Would be so much easier to plug in a telephone, check for a dial tone, check the number and confirm that there is no noise. Anything else is unproductive.

Re: Broadband keep on having flashing orange light

Thanks for the pictures. Can you now unplug the cable from the socket, unclip the front of it, plug the 'dangly filter' supplied with the Hub into the  socket revealed behind it, and see if it springs into life?
