Re: Broadband speed capped at 22mb

Thanks for confirming you are new to PN. One last request then - for tonight - can you post a screenshot of this page from your Hub - obscuring personal details:

Re: Broadband speed capped at 22mb

@Forcibly Thanks again. HOw long have you been with Pn - I ask because your DSL uptime is very low. Also, your D/S noise margin is high, and the quoted data rates look very low.

I'm around for half an hour or so , but from what I can see, you have a fault somewhere which needs reporting to Openreach for investigation.

Re: Broadband speed capped at 22mb

The good news is that the connection looks "banded" at 25Mbps, and will need Plusnet staff to initiate a "DLM reset"

The bad news is that at the moment the line will only achieve maybe 35Mbps, which is below the Handback Threshold indicated in Reply #7 , so you'll need to get an Openreach engineer out to fix your line.

You could try running the Plusnet line fault detection 'bot' -

Re: Broadband speed capped at 22mb

@outcast That was going to be my next suggestion, because there is clearly a fault somewhere in the OR network.

Re: Broadband speed capped at 22mb

I have only been with PS since 9:30am today, I know your going to say ah well you need to allow 14 days for the line to settle but with previous experience this does not happen , I've been at this property just over 2 years and I've never seen it get above 22mb. so I didn't want to just wait 14 days to be told yeah something else is at fault which I know is.

Re: Broadband speed capped at 22mb

@Forcibly Did you ever report the obvious fault to EE, and if you did, what did they say/do?

Re: Broadband speed capped at 22mb

It wasn't my contract with EE, she had it tied with mobile package and I did not have any say. I tried calling EE to see what IM suppose to get but they couldnt say. I believe it was suppose to be a 37mb package i think but due to the price i found PS. It's only till now im the account holder of the broadband and in control.

Re: Broadband speed capped at 22mb

Thanks for the info, @Forcibly . I would definitely do as @outcast suggested above and report a fault.

Re: Broadband speed capped at 22mb

Ignore the 'DLM reset' for the moment - if that is needed after the engineer visit, a call to PN will sort it.

If you follow the instructions posted above by @outcast , and PN detect a fault, they will arrange the OR engineer - you can't contact them, you have to go through PN.

Re: Broadband speed capped at 22mb

If you can get the "troubleshoot by text" thing to work,

If it finds a fault, then it will arrange an engineer to visit and fix the problem and perform a reset,

If it doesn't find a fault, then one of the options is for Plusnet support to phone you back, and you can ask for a DLM reset.
