DLM reset request

Just wondering if someone could please reset the DLM on my line please, I have just set up a new router and it is informing me that my current DL speed is nearly 20Mbps less than the potential max.

Thank you

Re: DLM reset request

What was your previous router showing, and what is your Minimum Guaranteed Line Speed?

Re: DLM reset request

Hi @BaxMaxTuck

Your current DLM profile is "0.128M-80M Downstream 5dB, Retransmission High - 0.128M-20M Upstream, Error Protection Off" so it's unlikely to be DLM at fault for this.

We'd need to go through your setup to make sure all is okay before we can investigate further

After the 3rd of November I will have a limited presence here as I have moved to a new role

Re: DLM reset request

I'm currently wired to my router through a powerline adapter. The new modem router is a TP-Link AC2100, which I have just swapped the Hub One for. I have included a screenshot of my current line stats from the AC2100. I am currently connected at just under my guaranteed speed of 56.1, but my line is rated at 62-80, and in the past I have been connected at around 70. I thought that maybe a DLM reset would help, as my line has been banded in the past

Re: DLM reset request

@BaxMaxTuck How long has the 'powerline adadpter' - which one, been in use? they can quite often cause issues for various reasons.

Re: DLM reset request

I find it hard to believe that the powerline adapters are to blame, I've used them for years and have had no problem with speed drops from the router. It is the speed that the router is connected at that I currently have an issue with.

Re: DLM reset request

@BaxMaxTuck I wasn't blaming the powerline adapters, hence why I asked how long they had been in use - if they were recent, then they could have had an effect, but if they are not a recent addition, then they are not the issue.

Is it possible to post the output from https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL , or https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome (if you do not have a phone connection) - in both cases, redact any personal information, but make sure the narrative at the bottom is included.

I also noticed the profile posted in message #3 shows "0.128M-80M Downstream 5dB, Retransmission High - 0.128M-20M Upstream, Error Protection Off"  - which suggests there is a problem somewhere causing data having to be resent - that may be worth investigation?

Re: DLM reset request

Hi jab1,

I did as you requested and have posted the results below, I have also included a copy of my router stats again because for some reason overnight my line speed improved. So unless one of the plusnet team on here has done something, I dont know what to suggest. Maybe the new router just needed to settle in?

Re: DLM reset request

Sorry for the late reply, @BaxMaxTuck . From those two screenshots, it appears the DLM adjusted your connection around 0100, and has taken your speed to just above the handback threshold - it may up it again, as you appear to have an extremely short copper run, which - theoretically - means you should be getting much closer to the max available as shown in your Archer picture.

I suggest you keep your eyes on it.
