Re: Fibre broadband drop out

@Bridiebabes you said above 'it is an old-style master socket' If it is is an NTE 5C, it will be clearly marked as such - and have separate phone and broadband sockets.

EDIT to add - that is not a 5C.

Re: Fibre broadband drop out

@Bridiebabes if you don't use a phone, then for a start unplug that telephone cable.

I'd then unscrew the 3rd party faceplate and plug the filter directly  into the test socket on the Openreach box.

Then just leave the faceplate off?

Yes, it might not look neat but it may be better performing

Re: Fibre broadband drop out

@Bridiebabes  If you have not heard anything I would assume that no engineer appointment has been booked.

How did you reply to the text from @MatthewWheeler in msg#16, not sure if a text reply is monitored?

A private message or a response to a ticket ( if there is one) in your member centre account would be better.

Let us know how you get on

After the 3rd of November I will have a limited presence here as I have moved to a new role

Re: Fibre broadband drop out

@Bridiebabes To be honest, I admit I was a little wary of your 'box'. Hope the replacement works and solves the issue.

Just for my information, can you post those two screenshots from your Hub again please - as they are currently?

Re: Fibre broadband drop out

Wow just looking back at the pics from last week my downstream max was just over 9mb now with the new box my max is near 40mb. Amazing what a newer box can do

Re: Fibre broadband drop out

@Bridiebabes Thanks for those two screenshots -  your figures look much better now. The downstream SNR figure looks (to me) a  little low, but unless you notice any connection drops, ignore my concerns.
