Hub 2 data rate much lower than BTW checker?

Just curious how accurate the BT wholesale checker is?

I've upgraded from the old 40mbps package today to the new fibre sogea package but not really seen an increase in speed.

@siegerson

What did the contract email tell you about your expected speeds? The "Minimum Guaranteed Speed" is important, if the speed test or sync speed is lower than your MSG it needs to be investigated

No my speed is not slower than the MSG.

I was just curious about the BTW checker, as I can't get close the high end of the figures there.

For me I see no increase of speed if I changed products from unlimited fibre extra to fibre (copper with no landline phone).

The BTW check should be seen as a prediction range of possible speeds, now you have no landline phone number you can no longer get a more accurate prediction. The modem will hopefully provide a true line sync speed with the line manager.

Yes seems to be the same here.

I was on the only 40mbit fibre so the switch should allow the max allow up to 80mbit (or the max the line can handle)

I didnt know if dlm would take a few days to increase sync speed or if there's a way to check if interleaving is on in the hub 2.

@siegerson

Do you have any extension wiring in your property? Are you connecting the hub to the BT master socket? If so try taking the front off the bt master socket, you may need to remove two screws unless you have the latest clip on type. In the back box is the test socket, connect yout hub via a filter to this and check again.

If this is the same then put it all back and just leave it connected for a week or so. It is possible that as part of the ‘upgrade’ the DLM has been reset and if your line will support it, your speed will increase.

The BT checker gives you an estimated range, your speed can sit anywhere in this, not necessarily at the top end.
