Interleaving

Hi

Back in June I received an email from Plusnet telling me that they had asked their wholesale broadband suppliers to turn interleaving off at my request. I hadn't requested such a thing as I'd never heard of interleaving before then. Could someone tell me, in laymans terms, what interleaving is, and is having it switched off likely to be good or bad for my internet connection.

I had tried online search before and just got lots of links to some sort of educational method, but tried again after your post and refined the search. Found what I was looking for. Doesn't explain why it was disabled according to my non-existent request though.
