Network issues?

Speed is fine (for a DSL connection that is). Tested on speedtest.net and getting 61/17 mbps.
Problem is some sites and apps not loading images or connecting.
Discord is slow to connect and load and images are not loading/showing in the chat rooms. civitai.com is not loading images properly if at all. prompthero.com images are loading but sluggish. Sites like Youtube work fine. It began around the afternoon from what I can gather.
I tethered to my Three mobile phone to verify it was not a local user issue. Everything loads fine on Three (albeit a bit slow considering their 4G/5G is supposed to be very fast (cough).
Any ideas guys?

It's not just you, it seems to be affecting just certain sites, possibly anything cloudflare based from the research I can find. It might be worth changing your dns temporarily to 8.8.8.8 to straight through Google. I can hotspot just fine and it appears the speed is very slowly coming back up. Downdetector says there are issues https://downdetector.co.uk/status/plusnet/

Yep, it appears to be routing to websites hosted on Cloudflare.

Shame it's a Saturday eh.... It's been going on alla fternoon and the second time for me in the last 2 weeks

Yep, it is an issue, specifically between BT's core network and Cloudflare. if you do an MTR on the Cloudflare DNS IP address, you will see the packet loss.

A lot of sites having security checks by Cloudflare are taking a long, long time to confirm I exist…..

Same here, text loads fine and speedtest / pings are about average, just very sloooow image downloads.

I have raised an escalation ... but it is the weekend!
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

I'm already using google dns 8.8.8.8 still having cloudflare issues, don't think that is a temp fix.

I have been using the google dns 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.8.4 for a long time. And I'm having the same problems

Also having weird issues here. Can watch 4k on Youtube fine but websites and 'minor downloads' are strange. I play a game which downloads custom character clothing on the fly and it's not even hitting 1mb!
Discord is completely broken too, but that actually seems like a Discord issue too. Very weird internet day.

Discord is fine.
Discord hosts on cloudflare though, plusnet to cloudflare is the issue.
