No idea why that was suggested, unless he meant the cable between your master socket and router (not the phone), but given your current figures, I wouldn't bother.

Update, internet still slow ish yet decent speed when I do speed tests . Netflix ok. The problem now is I can’t send any emails from any device (iPhone, iPad,laptop or desktop) either using iCloud or internet mail. Yet I can receive emails .Total mystery , any ideas anyone ? Looks like I’ll have to get back in touch with bt/plusnet but I don’t have much confidence in them

A totally different issue, I think, @destiny234 What mail program(s) do you use, and is this using a Plusnet mail account?

It iCloud and bt internet , I don’t know what mail programs , sorry , perhaps suggest some options

Confused I am, Linda. If you are with Plusnet, you can't have a BT email address (I don't think). What is the wording after the '@' in your email address? If you are using an Apple product, as I assume you are from your 'iCloud' comment, do you have an iCloud email address -('something'@icloud.com)?

My iCloud email is @icloud.com
My bt email is @btinternet.com
Incidentally any emails to bt email also go to iCloud.
Neither are sending emails from Apple or desktop. Yet I’m receiving emails to both.
Sorry it’s confusing, I’ve no chance then 🙂

Don't give up yet. So you obviously were with BTbroadband before Plusnet, and have retained that address - I didn't think it was possible, but it obviously is - and have an iCloud address too.

Unfortunately, I won't be available tomorrow - returning from Devon - but this needs a bit more investigation, especially if the totally  separate have both failed to send.

Do you get any error messages when trying to  send?

@Mustrum  / @Dan_the_Van  - any thoughts?

John thanks yet again , hopefully we’ll get it sorted soon , it’s not a good time for me not being able to send emails this week , but hey I’ll just have to pick up a phone (bit deaf though 🙂 )

John, sorry didn`t see that question.

No there were no error messages when I sent emails (to myself mainly as tests) and when I went to `sent` they were all there as if they had gone. This is very annoying as I had no idea which emails actually went to other people. 

However, today Monday morning all is well again!!

I read on another post that this sometimes happens, I hope it lasts.

Thanks for your help, I somehow think though that this isnt the last of it 😞
