If you join Plusnet today and pay monthly for line rental, can you then take up LRS within the first 12 months if the price comes down?

Yes, although I wouldn't rate the chances of that happening too highly.

AFAIK you can take up LRS at any time but it will run for 12 months, starting from the date of your next bill.

BT Retail put up their LRS from £141 to £159.84
Talk Talk put up their LRS from £141 to £172.20

I don't know if anyone else has seen this over on mse  Not sure if they have every detail correct, but hey ho!

that looks hideous over 2 years, I signed upto BT infinity in 2012 and this is a copy and paste of my email receipt nov 2012

The Talk Talk one if bad though - works out at £14.35 a month. If you use their Speedy Payment discount of 15% (pay online via a debit card on the day of the bill) and pay monthly, then the monthly line rental is £13.56 - but how many people will do this?

No one is forced to pay LRS.

Bt are putting up their line rental prices 6.25% by December.with similar rises for broadband.
the good news is bt basic is staying the same at £5.10 a month with free paper billing and call allowance and no non direct debit charge, its worth checking eligibility for the offer for those on qualifying benefits.

Of course not  because when you ring them you get " welcome to the home of free sport" , so it must be free

I bet BT price rise 6.25% in December could trigger Plusnet to do the same soon in 2015. I hope NOT!

I doubt that BT's forthcoming price rise took Plusnet senior management by surprise.

Why should a BT Retail price increase affect Plusnet pricing - Wholesale and Openreach prices have not increased?

Post Office is cheaper phone line only (£120 a year LRS) with £10 a month. I will switch to this once my LRS with Plusnet had expired next year July 2015
