Thank you  pwatson .  It confirms what I thought.
So, who is going to correct the COT member?

Probably best to start a new thread in Your Feedback about this specific incident.  I think it's highly unlikely that any of the PN staff that frequent the forums will spot your post in this thread.

Thanks, I just do that.  Now I am more interested in what chrcoluk just mentioned in his post.

Re: Autumn Price increase FAQ's

they  charge us a early termination fee
when I move  due to the increase  in line rental
and it should have been no charge
should have said that  before I moved

Re: Autumn Price increase FAQ's

Did you follow the correct procedure when you notified them that you wanted to leave because of the price increase

Re: Autumn Price increase FAQ's

after the way plusnet spoken to me over the phone last night I have managed today to get ofcom to look into the policy of no refunds on LRS for price increases. Which in my opinion does not count as "penalty free".

Re: Autumn Price increase FAQ's

I know OFCOM are a useless sack of salt, but I hope sometime soon they give the Telecoms market a shake.  Not only do BT still have a Monopoly in many areas, but companies do seem to be taking the Proverbial regarding line rental charging etc.
Then again, I answered my own pnderment there. It's because OFCOM are a useless sack of salt that we've got to this stage in the first place.  Allowing BT to be a monopoly in many rural areas.  Racking up Industry charges because Osborne failed to secure a good payback for 4G services - and Government in general not making sure Broadband is rolled out properly and cheaply everywhere.
Saw BBC's Click last weekend.  South Korea are rolling out 5G across the country - and many folk in the UK can barely get an ordinary mobile signal!

Re: Autumn Price increase FAQ's

When I was a mere lad, the GPO ensured a widespread distribution of red boxes from which you could make phone calls.
Extremely cheap & no line rental was due.
Mobiles are a poor substitute.

Re: Autumn Price increase FAQ's

@Ado16
Did that BBC program extolling the virtues of South Korea mention that ALL the hospitals and Doctors surgeries in Korea are privately owned and run.  Or did they mysteriously miss out that bit when telling us all how wonderful the place was for broadband.
The grass is not necessarily greener elsewhere
Perhaps if we privatised the NHS then we too could afford a public funded roll out FTTP/5G everywhere....................

Re: Autumn Price increase FAQ's

I know! I know. Makes a good headline though!
After all - the Broadband is pretty cool in France too, my French friends tell me.
Though like back in the seventies here - you could be waiting six weeks for installation!! Shocked
