Quote from: Anotherone That sounds like a traffic management bug, probably best not to go into detail on that in this thread?
Yeah, it is a bug and I've had tickets open on this since October. However the effect of the wrong classification has got far worse over the last few weeks which is why I think it's appropriate to query if it's associated with the other issues.
Quote from: Bright That's an interesting latency graph! Could I ask where it's from?
You obviously haven't found this page: http://www.plus.net/support/service/
Have a look at the second link in the Network performance graphs section.

Ah ha!! You're right, I hadn't found that obscure corner of the support site
Interesting. So it's the bronze and best effort queues on both 20CN and 21CN that are suffering during the evening peak. Which is what you'd expect (in terms of which queues) but perhaps not the magnitude of the problem. The bit I don't understand is why speedtest.net results show significant throughput reduction for affected customers, but speed test traffic should surely be in the gold queue, which looks pretty normal in evening hours...?
(sorry if I'm catching up on what has already been said!)

Exchange congestion, yes, I read something recently funnily enough but can't remember where The BT Spec. is wide enough to drive a Bus through just like their acceptable limits for BB speed
I'll see if I can find it later sometime.

We've essentially ruled out anything physically causing an issue which narrows this down. We'll be in touch when we know more.

Quote from: Chris Thanks for letting me know that the engineer has been. I'm collating all of the information as part of investigating the issues which you are experiencing at peak times.

Openreach did confirm to me that there is no capacity issues so that rules that out exchange status was showing as green.

If you look at the BT Infinity forums, there are lots of threads similar to those on here about peak time slow downs:
http://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity/Leics-congestion/td-p/789770
Seems to be an issue in BT's network somewhere.

I did take a look at the documentation surrounding the VP (Virtual Path) and it was indeed showing as Green.

Ok here - going to run tests every 30 mins to compare performance.
