Re: Peak time latency spikes

Just thought I'd post a TBB graph of last night up until this morning.  There is a strange spike just before 8am (green spike) which did disappear fairly quickly, but a bit of a concern to see such a strange spike, and generally high latency at that time of the morning!

Re: Peak time latency spikes

OK Guys - this sort of thing does not bode well for my proposed migrate back in. Gateway hopping was somthing I had to do 3+ years ago - I'd have thought that setup would be eliminated by now.

Definately going to wait at least until this round of problems is fixed.
How often is this sort of thing happening these days - I've just had nearly 3 years completely trouble free with BE.

Tony - you can't be looking forward to migrating to Sky then!

You lost connection around 7.00pm, unless that was an intentional gateway hop?

This is why I miss BE so much. Best BB I've ever had.
So, how often? It's every night, pretty much. It's been going on for a while. I know I've been hopping since mid January. It's a long thread, so I wouldn't expect you to read it all, but you can glean from it just how often it is for others.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Thanks for the feedback guys. It would seem from what you say, that it's probably the Met Office mucking about with their site, rather than PN/BT - which is good news since I've had no problems in over two years. Smiley
I've just tried Explorer again, and strangely it's at least loading now, whereas this morning it just froze. Seems to be about the same as Firefox, although Opera is really struggling still - I know it isn't one of their 'supported' browsers, but it's been fine up to now.
Looks like I might have to use Explorer for a while until they sort it out - aaaaaargh!!

Well, quite - which is why there will be a migration - probably to plusnet, but I need to be certain that I'm not coming back to a bag of spanners.

I realise the current problem is ongoing and continuous. I meant more to ask - how often is this *sort* of issue happening. IE, how many times over the last three years has there been something similar going on? From recollection, I'd guess it was about once or twice a year when I was with plusnet, although being an old git, that could be a completely fabricated memory.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Whilst the speed/pingtest results help. Interested to know what visible problems (if any) people experience this evening i.e. what affect is it actually having on your Internet activities. Would also appreciate anyone who's able to provide the necessary information posting on the new thread I set up here.
