When you open up the additional options the Attach is below Insert Photo from Flickr which makes it look as though you can only attach photos from Flickr.

I found it hellishly difficult to work out how people were adding attachments to their posts...

It begins to look to me that it's more it's something someone did because they could than a useful feature that enhances the dialogue between Plusnet and their users.
